    The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission announces four public meetings to which all persons are invited.

    GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: Discussion of potential changes to permits the Commission issues to commercial fishers and professional fishing guides authorizing some activities to be performed at higher speeds than otherwise allowed in manatee protection zones. These permits are issued pursuant to existing rules in Chapter 68C-22, F.A.C. The Manatee Management Plan approved by the Commission in 2007 recommends amending the rules to scale back the types of activities that can be covered by these permits. The purpose of the meetings is to gather information from the public and current permit holders regarding this potential change and to answer any questions that arise.
