Board of Opticianry

The Board of Opticianry hereby gives notice of the issuance of an Order Granting Petition for Variance or Waiver regarding Emily Kasap, filed on July 27, 2017.

The Notice of Petition for Variance and Waiver was published July 28, 2017 in Volume 43, No. 146 of the Florida Administrative Register. No comments were received on the Petition.

The Board considered the Petition at a duly-noticed public meeting by telephone on September 19, 2017. The Petitioner requested a variance or waiver from Rule 64B12-16.004, F.A.C., with regard to the requirement that an apprentice’s sponsor submit a termination of sponsorship form no more than thirty days after the termination date. At its meeting, the Board found that the application of the rule to the Petitioner would violate the principles of fairness and therefore voted to grant the petition.

The Board’s Order, filed on September 28, 2017, grants the Petition and approves the waiver.
