  • NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on September 23, 2011, the Board of Veterinary Medicine has issued an order disposing of the petition for declaratory statement filed by Maron B. Calderwood Mays, D.V.M., on June 02, 2011. The following is a summary of the agency's disposition of the petition:
    The Notice of Petition for Declaratory Statement was published in Vol. 37, No. 30, of the July 29, 2011, Florida Administrative Weekly. The petition seeks the Board’s interpretation of Sections 474.202(9), (11), (13) and 474.203(1), (2), (4), F.S., concerning whether a diagnostic veterinary pathologist working in a private veterinary diagnostic laboratory in Florida must be licensed to practice veterinary medicine in Florida. It is the Board’s opinion that veterinary pathologists working in a private Florida veterinary diagnostic laboratory must be Florida licensed veterinarians.
