    The State of Florida, Department of Military Affairs, Construction and Facility Management Office requests bids from State of Florida registered licensed General and/or Building Contractors (as required by Florida Law) for the following project located at Florida National Guard Armory, 2500 US Highway 27 South, Avon Park, FL 33525.

    FUNDING: The State of Florida’s performance and obligation to pay under this contract is contingent upon availability of funding and an annual appropriation by the Legislature. These projects will be awarded based upon the availability of Federal Cooperative Agreement End of Year Funding. There is no promise or guarantee this project will be awarded in Fiscal Year 2011 or Fiscal Year 2012 if funds are not received.

    PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Florida Armory Renovation Program (FARP)

    Florida National Guard Armory Renovation – Avon Park, Highlands County, Florida.

    The Scope of Work for the renovation and remodeling of the existing Armory consists of all work needed to bring the existing Armory up to current building codes, life safety codes, accessibility codes and energy efficiency standards. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to: Removal of existing interior non-load bearing office and restroom partitions, windows, doors, interior finishes, ventilation devices, plumbing, and electrical devices. New construction includes, but is not limited to: New administration offices, kitchen, Drill Hall, handicap-accessible restrooms and shower rooms, supply rooms, storage rooms, electrical rooms, and a pre-engineered metal building for storage. In addition, the remodeled Armory will receive new wall and roof insulation; new wall, ceiling and flooring finishes; plumbing and plumbing fixtures; and electrical wiring, electrical devices and lighting.

    The Department reserves the right to reject any and all submissions, or accept minor irregularities in the best interest of the DMA.
