- The purpose of the rule is to support implementation of Section 1012.56, Florida Statutes, as amended by Senate Bill 7002 (2024). The statutory amendment allows certified educators to place their certificates in an inactive status and requires the department to prescribe professional learning requirements that educators must complete to reactivate a certificate that has been inactive for more than one year.
