Notice is hereby given that the Board of Medicine has received a Petition for Declaratory Statement filed on behalf of Derrick Davis, P.A., on October 17, 2019. The Petitioner seeks a declaratory statement from the Board regarding whether Mr. Davis, a physician assistant, meets the definition of a physician under Section 458.305, F.S., and as such is lawfully permitted to wholly own his own business, perform health care services upon patients involved in automobile accidents and submit bills for reimbursement from automobile insurance carriers without having to obtain a health care clinic license from the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA). The Board will consider this petition at its meeting currently scheduled for Friday, December 6, 2019. Except for good cause shown, motions for leave to intervene must be filed within 21 days after publication of this notice.
