Florida State Clearinghouse Federal Consistency Review
The state is coordinating review of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ (USACE) federal consistency determination for its Updated Master Water Control Manual for the Apalachicola-Chattahoochee-Flint River Basin in Alabama, Florida and Georgia and Water Supply Storage Assessment, as required by Section 403.061(42), F.S.
USACE proposes to update the Apalachicola-Chattahoochee-Flint River Basin Master Water Control Manual, including a water supply storage assessment to address potential reallocation of reservoir storage in Lake Sidney Lanier, Georgia, for water supply to Georgia. The USACE action is subject to review for consistency with the enforceable policies of the Florida Coastal Management Program. In its consistency determination, the USACE has concluded that its proposed action “is consistent with the enforceable policies of the Florida CMP to the maximum extent practicable.”
A description of the proposed action is contained in the Draft Environmental Impact Statement: http://www.sam.usace.army.mil/Missions/PlanningEnvironmental/ACFMasterWaterControlManualUpdate/ACFDocumentLibrary.aspx
The USACE consistency determination is included as Appendix L to that Draft Environmental Impact Statement. Comments are due to the Clearinghouse on November 9, 2015. For more information or to submit comments, please contact the Clearinghouse Office at:
