NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on October 18, 2012, the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, Division of Hotels and Restaurants, Bureau of Elevator Safety, received a petition for Sun Towers Retirement Community. Petitioner seeks a variance of the requirements of ASME A17.3, Section 3.11.3, 2.7.4, 3.10.4(t), 3.11.1(a)(2), and 3.3.2, as adopted by 61C-5.001(1), Florida Administrative Code that requires upgrading the elevators with firefighters’ emergency operations, platform guards, restricted door openings, in car stop switch, and car emergency signal devices which poses a significant economic/financial hardship.
