64B13-10.002Administration and Prescription of Topical Pharmaceutical Agents
NOTICE OF CORRECTION
Notice is hereby given that the following correction has been made to the proposed rule in Vol. 39 No. 208, October 24, 2013 issue of the Florida Administrative Register.
The correction is in response to comments submitted by the Joint Administrative Procedures Committee in a letter dated October 15, 2013. The correction is as follows:
64B13-10.002(1) shall read correctly as: “(1) Only a certified optometrist may administer and prescribe topical ocular pharmaceutical agents. A licensed practitioner who is not certified may use topically applied anesthetics solely for the purpose of glaucoma examinations, but is otherwise prohibited from administering or prescribing topical ocular pharmaceutical agents. Certified optometrists may administer and prescribe only those topical ocular pharmaceutical agents identified by rule of the Board and oral ocular pharmaceutical agents listed in the statutory formulary.”
64B13-10.002(5) shall read correctly as: “(5)(3) When an ocular topical pharmaceutical agent is either administered or prescribed to a patient by a certified optometrist, such shall be documented in the patient’s record.”
