The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is conducting a public meeting to present the refined alternatives for the Volusia Transit Connector Study. The study area encompasses State Road (SR) 46 in Seminole County to US 1 in Volusia County. The purpose of the study is to evaluate options for providing enhanced transit service to meet current and future transportation needs and improve mobility within the study area. Community consensus and support for a Recommended Alternative is an important part of the study. It will also evaluate the feasibility and cost-effectiveness of the Recommended Alternative and its potential to compete nationally for Federal Transit Administration (FTA) funding.
The public meeting is being held in three (3) locations within the study area to provide maximum opportunities for public feedback. Identical information will be presented at each meeting. Each meeting will be conducted in an informal open house format. Stakeholders are encouraged to participate and engage in study specifics. There will be a formal presentation at 6:30 p.m. Each public meeting will include an overview of the study, informational displays illustrating the study corridor, schedule and additional project specific information. Project representatives will be present to discuss the study, receive public input, and answer questions.
