PURPOSE AND EFFECT: The purpose of the amendment to Rule 59G-4.140 is to incorporate by reference the Florida Medicaid Hospice Services Coverage Policy, __________. The incorporated coverage policy will specify recipient eligibility, provider requirements, service coverage, and reimbursement information. The amendment aligns the policy with changes to Medicare reimbursement rules.

THE PRELIMINARY TEXT OF THE PROPOSED RULE DEVELOPMENT IS:

 

59G-4.140 Hospice Services.

(1) This rule applies to all providers rendering Florida Medicaid any person or entity prescribing or reviewing a request for hospice services to recipients and to all providers of hospice services who are enrolled in or registered with the Florida Medicaid program .

(2) All providers persons or entities described in subsection (1), must be in compliance with the provisions of the Florida Medicaid Hospice Services Coverage Policy, ______ June 2016, incorporated by reference. The policy is available on the Agency for Health Care Administration’s Web site website at http://ahca.myflorida.com/Medicaid/review/index.shtml, and at http://www.flrules.org/Gateway/reference.asp?No=Ref-_______06751.

(3) The Agency will review this rule five years from the effective date and repromulgate, amend or repeal the rule as appropriate, in accordance with Section 120.54, F.S. and Chapter 1-1, F.A.C.
