    The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District One, announces a public information meeting to which all persons are invited.

    GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: FDOT is preparing design plans to widen State Road (SR) 29 from SR 82 to the Hendry County line in Collier County, Florida. The Financial Project ID (FPID) number is: 417878-4-32-01.

    The proposed improvements include widening the existing two-lane undivided roadway to a four-lane divided roadway. The existing right of way width is 200 feet and additional right of way will be acquired from the west side. The proposed improvement includes two newly constructed 12-foot travel lanes, two existing 12-foot travel lanes, a 40-foot grassed median, six-foot inside shoulders, eight-foot outside shoulders and ditches on both sides of the roadway to convey stormwater to an existing offsite pond.

    The purpose of the meeting is to present information and to obtain comments about the proposed widening plans for this segment of SR 29. You can attend anytime during the open house to review project information and talk one-on-one with the design team. In the event that the public meeting cannot be held on Thursday, October 11, 2018 due to severe weather or other unforeseen conditions, it will be held on Monday, October 22, 2018 at the UF/IFAS Southwest Florida Research and Education Center located at 2685 SR 29 North, Immokalee, Florida.
