The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District One is hosting a public information meeting as a part of a two-phase study of US 17/92 (Hinson Avenue) from South 1st Street to 17th Street in Haines City. FDOT invites all members of the public to attend.
DATE AND TIME: Thursday, October 11, 2018, 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., open house
PLACE: Lake Eva Community Center, 555 Ledwith Avenue, Haines City, FL
GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: Phase One of this study, which is currently underway, is a Feasibility Study to develop a project Purpose and Need statement as well as a range of reasonable alternatives for improvements to the US 17/92 corridor in Haines City. The purpose of this meeting is to solicit public comments to assist the FDOT in determining which alternatives to carry forward into Phase Two - the Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study for further detailed evaluation.
FDOT sent notices to property owners within 300 feet on either side of the study alternatives, which include Hinson Avenue, Main Street, Oak Avenue, and Powerline Road. FDOT solicits public participation without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability or family status.
