    BIDS ARE REQUESTED FROM QUALIFIED CONTRACTORS BY THE FLORIDA FISH AND WILDLIFE CONSERVATION COMMISSION FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF:

    PROJECT NAME:FISHEATING CREEK WMA – COWBONE MARSH

    CHANNEL RESTORATION

    PROJECT LOCATION: GLADES COUNTY, FLORIDA

    FOR:

    Work on this proposed Contract comprises installing a temporary access road 14-feet wide and 1.164 miles in length overlaid with composite interlocking mats, utilizing the temporary access road to transport approximately 27,000 CY of sand fill to be excavated and obtained from a borrow pit at a location shown in the Drawings, backfilling an existing channel for about 10,000 feet, stabilizing the backfilled channel with a native wetland seed prescription applied via hydro-seeding, removal of the temporary access road and restoring all disturbed areas.

    QUALIFICATION:

    Each bidder whose field is governed by Chapter 399, 455, 489, and 633 of the Florida Statutes for licensure or certification must submit qualification data of their eligibili­ty to submit proposals with their bid.

    PRE-BID CONFERENCE:

    A non-mandatory pre-bid conference has been scheduled for 11:00am EDT on Thursday, October 18, 2012, at:

    The Commission will be providing transportation (swamp buggies and airboats) to the site.  One representative of each contractor may reserve a spot by calling Ms. Patricia Lloyd at the address listed above, at least 48 hours prior to pre-bid conference.  Walk-ins may join only if extra space is available or if they can provide their own transportation.

    REQUIRED BONDS:

    On projects where the base bid and sum of all additive alternates exceeds $100,000, bids shall be accompanied by a bid guarantee of not less than five (5) percent of the amount of the bid.

    After award of contract, a 100% performance bond and a 100% labor and material payment bond will be required.
