    Notice of Comment Period for Disaster Recovery Initiative Funds

    NOTICE OF STATE OF FLORIDA 2018 ACTION PLAN FOR THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT DISASTER RECOVERY (CDBG-DR) PROGRAM

    The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has allocated $773,598,000 in CDBG-DR funds to the state for recovery in the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) declared counties and zip codes impacted by Disaster Declaration 4337 (Hurricane Irma).  The Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) is the lead agency and responsible entity for administering the funds.

    The rules for grant management applying to the funds were published in the Federal Register, Vol. 83, No. 157/Tuesday, August 14, 2018. As required by the Federal Register an Action Plan that primarily addresses unmet housing needs must be submitted by DEO to HUD for approval.

    On October 5, 2018, a copy of the “draft” Substantial Amendment 1 to the State of Florida’s Action Plan for Disaster Recovery will be posted on the DEO’s website at: http://www.floridajobs.org/cdbg-dr.

    The required 30-day comment period will commence on Friday, October 5, 2018, and will conclude on Tuesday, November 6, 2018.

    DEO will submit the final Substantial Amendment 1 to the State of Florida’s Action Plan for Disaster Recovery to HUD no later than Friday, November 16, 2018. DEO will accept comments or questions about the draft Substantial Amendment 1 to the State of Florida's Action Plan until Tuesday, November 6, 2018.
