NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on September 19, 2017, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, received a petition for a variance from sub-paragraph (2)(a)4 of the Sarasota County manatee protection rule (68C-22.026, Florida Administrative Code). The petition was submitted by the Sarasota Ski-A-Rees, Inc. (“Ski-A-Rees”) and seeks renewal of a variance issued in 2003 and renewed in 2007 and 2013 allowing Ski-A-Rees to conduct show-ski operations and training in a portion of the City Island area that is designated as a Slow Speed zone. The request seeks to renew all aspects of the existing variance for another five years. Comments regarding the petition will be accepted for no less than 14 days from the date of publication of this notice.
