Project Description: CFX Osceola Parkway Extension Project Development and Environment (PD&E)

    Study Re-evaluation

The Central Florida Expressway Authority (CFX) is conducting a Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study Re-evaluation for the proposed Osceola Parkway Extension. The study will determine if a new expressway connection between State Road 417 near Boggy Creek Road and the proposed Sunbridge Parkway is viable and fundable in accordance with CFX policies and procedures.

The overall goals of the proposed Osceola Parkway Extension are to provide improved connections between area roads; accommodate anticipated transportation demand; provide consistency with local and regional plans; support economic viability and job creation; support intermodal opportunities; and enhance evacuation and emergency services.

The meeting will be held in an open house format on Tuesday, November 19 from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the Lake Nona Middle School cafeteria, 13700 Narcoosee Road, Orlando, Florida 32832. Attendees will be able to come at any point during the meeting to view the study exhibits, ask questions and provide comments. A looping audiovisual presentation will be available for viewing throughout the meeting.

During the workshop, the CFX study team’s recommendation for the preferred alternative will be presented for public input. Based on the input we receive, the alternatives may be further refined. The exhibits on display will include the study alternatives and an evaluation matrix of their potential impacts to the physical, natural, social and cultural environment. Public involvement and interagency coordination are an integral part of the assessment process, and opportunities for participation are being provided.

When the PD&E Study Re-evaluation concludes, it will result in a recommendation to the CFX Governing Board of the preferred alternative. If the project is approved by the CFX Governing Board, it would move forward for further project development.
