    SUMMARY

    Responsible for assisting the Underwriting Manager with the following: analysis, interpretation and compliance of the rating rules and policy forms utilized by the FAJUA; tracks and responds to changes in the laws and insurance market on all underwriting issues; authors filings and proposed changes in policy forms; acts as liaison between service providers, FAJUA, and AIPSO; provides technical advice and product training to underwriting staff and service providers.

    SALARY RANGE $50,000-$65,000

    BENEFIT PACKAGE PROVIDED.

    PREFERRED EXPERIENCE – 1 TO 3 YEARS.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES other duties may be assigned as needed.

    Assists the Underwriting Manager with the following:

    Monitors changes in legislation to determine the effect on the FAJUA. Ensures FAJUA compliance with regulatory requirements. Recommends changes in operating procedure to maintain compliance.

    Assists AIPSO with revisions to current FAJUA Underwriting Rules, Operating Plan, Policy Endorsements and Forms. Assures continued compliance. Interprets Plan Rules and advises producers, service providers and consumers.

    Authors filing memoranda for submission to Florida Department of Financial Services. Submits proposals for changes in text of Plan Manuals, Rules, Rates, Policy Forms, applications, change request forms and state mandated forms. Produces supporting exhibits. Corresponds with AIPSO and DFS to advise of recommended manual changes.

    Corresponds with Service providers, Producers, DFS, and computer rating system vendors regarding rate changes.

    Schedules annual audits for AIPSO to review underwriting practices and write charge offs of service providers.

    Develops pricing structure and underwriting guidelines and rules for certain FAJUA risks. Approves individual risk submissions.

    Investigates disputes and disciplines producers for rule violations.

    Analyzes audit results and manages service provider corrections.

    Facilitates educational seminars for service providers and producers. Trains service provider underwriters.
