    GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: Collier County, in conjunction with The Florida Department of Transportation District One, will host an alternatives public workshop regarding the Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study being conducted for the Golden Gate Estates Bridges. This meeting will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2014 in the Golden Gate Fire Control and Rescue District Station 71 Training Room, 100 13th Street S.W., Naples, FL 34117 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

    The purpose of this workshop is to afford the public the opportunity to express their views concerning the proposed alternatives. The workshop will be an informal open house. There will be a display of boards and other materials to present examples of the different alternatives. County and Department staff will be available to discuss the project, receive public input and to answer your questions. There will be no formal presentation and participants are welcome to attend anytime between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

    The alternatives under consideration consist of new bridge crossings over canals at 8th Street N.E. from Golden Gate Blvd. to Randall Blvd., 16th Street N.E. from Golden Gate Blvd. to Randall Blvd. and 47th Ave. N.E. from Immokalee Road to Everglades Blvd., as well as roadway enhancements including sidewalks. These area and corridor enhancements will provide operational and safety improvements, for better emergency response times, evacuation capabilities, and service capabilities to the surrounding area. The increased connectivity provided by these improvements will also increase the efficiency of services provided to the subdivision and allow for greater options for alternative travel routes of resident.
