    Florida State Boxing Commission

    The Florida State Boxing Commission hereby gives notice that it has received a petition, filed on November 17, 2014, by Michael P. Mersch, Esq. on behalf of Zuffa, LLC. The Petitioner is seeking a temporary waiver or variance from paragraph 61K1-1.011, (2)(g), subparagraphs 61K1-1.003(2)(a)1., (b)2., 3., 5., 6., 7., 61K1-1.005(d)1., 2., (2)(e), (n), (r), (s), (t), (u), Rules 61K1-1.030, 61K1-1.037, and 61K1-1.040, Florida Administrative Code, Petitioner is filming a reality show and request a deferment of the release of a limited number of documents to the public; waiver from the requirement to procure permits for individual matches; treat the entire event as one event; from the requirement of seven (7) calendar days for providing the permit to the Commission; flexibility in providing the approval of proposed dates due to possible date changes during filming; the requirement in providing fight cards seven (7) calendar days in advance; the requirement to submit the condition of the match for the proposed event fourteen (14) days in advance of the event; the requirement for submission of contracts between the participants and the promoters for each bout to be filed with the Commission no later than the time of the weigh in; the requirement to have a medical professional to observe the weigh in every three (3) days; from filing purse receipts, written reports of gross receipts, tax payments or other broadcast tax; from the professional debut certification requirement.; and the stringent time requirements understanding the any suspension clearance will be evaluated by the Commissions medical professional.

    The Petitioner is requesting a Declaratory Statement for approval of the filming schedule is not inconsistent with subpargraph 61K1-1.003(2)(b)6., Florida Administrative Code, and clarification of Rule 61K1-1.030, Florida Administrative Code, in regards to the number of rounds and the manner in which they are applied to the reality show described in the Petition.
