    GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: Financial Management No. 441519-1

    The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District One, is holding a public hearing regarding proposed safety improvements on U.S. 27 (S.R. 25) from Glades County Line to south of Horn Road in Highlands County. Project improvements include resurfacing the roadway and modifying median openings, turn lanes and driveways along U.S. 27. The proposed project also includes drainage improvements and installing new signage and updating pavement markings.

    The hearing will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2019, at the Archbold Biological Station, 123 Main Drive, Venus, FL 33960. There will be an open house at 5:00 p.m. during which staff will be available to discuss the project and answer questions, followed by a formal presentation at 6:00 p.m. The FDOT is conducting this public hearing to give interested persons an opportunity to express their views concerning the location, conceptual design, and social, economic and environmental effects of the proposed improvements.

    Participants may provide their verbal comments after the presentation to all present. Participants may also provide verbal comments directly to a court reporter before and after the formal presentation. Written comments may be submitted at the hearing, mailed to Kellie Spurgeon, P.E., FDOT District One, 801 North Broadway Avenue, Bartow, FL 33830, or emailed to kellie.spurgeon@dot.state.fl.us. Comments must be received no later than December 13, 2019 to become part of the project’s public record.
