Notice of Florida Building Code Binding Interpretation

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT the Building Officials Association of Florida has issued a binding interpretation pursuant to s. 553.775, Florida Statutes, filed by George Palermo of George Palermo Architect, Inc., on October 19, 2012.  The following is a summary of the interpretation:

Section 101.5, Florida Building Code, Existing Building Volume, (2007) requires that Petitioner's project be governed by the edition of the Florida Building Code (Building and Sub-Codes) and the Florida Fire Prevention Code that is in effect on the date of submission for a permit. Compliance with the governing sections for the new use and occupancy would guide the construction.
