The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Florida Forest Service (FFS) and the Lake George State Forest Management Plan Advisory Group (MPAG) announce two public meetings and a public hearing to which all persons are invited.

DATE AND TIME: Tuesday, December 2, 2014, 5:00 p.m.: MPAG Organizational Meeting, Lake George State Forest Management Plan Advisory Group

PLACE: Volusia County Agricultural Center, 3100 East New York Avenue, DeLand, Florida

GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: To allow the Lake George State Forest Management Plan Advisory Group to prepare for a public hearing the evening of December 2, 2014 and provide recommendations to the FFS to help in preparation of a management plan for the Lake George State Forest.

DATE AND TIME: Tuesday, December 2, 2014, 6:00 p.m.: Public Hearing

PLACE: Volusia County Agricultural Center, East New York Avenue, DeLand, Florida

GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: To solicit public comments on management of the Lake George State Forest. Comments may be presented orally or in writing at the hearing. Written comments may also be submitted to the FFS’s Lake George State Forest, 5458 North Highway 17, DeLeon Springs, Florida 32130, to the attention of Cathy Lowenstein and should be mailed so as to arrive at the office by the date of the public hearing.

AGENDA: Call to Order, Introductions and Remarks; Summary of Draft Ten-Year Resource Management Plan for Lake George State Forest; Question/Answer on Plan Content; Public Comment; Process Summation and Adjournment.

PLACE: Volusia County Agricultural Center, 3100 East New York Avenue, DeLand, Florida

GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: To allow the Lake George State Forest Management Plan Advisory Group to review comments from the public hearing of December 2, 2014 and provide recommendations to the FFS to help in preparation of a management plan for the Lake George State Forest.

Copies of a working draft on the plan are available by contacting the Lake George State Forest in writing at the above address or contacting Cathy Lowenstein at [phone]. Special accommodations for persons with disabling condition should be requested in writing at least 48 hours in advance of these proceedings. Any request for special accommodations can be made by writing to the FFS’s Lake George State Forest Office at the above listed address. You are hereby notified in accordance with Chapter 286.0105, Florida Statutes, should you decide to appeal any decision made as a result of, or take exception to any findings of fact with respect to any matter considered at the hearing and meeting referred to above, you may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made. Such record shall include the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
