    GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: This hearing is being held as part of current Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Studies to assist Hillsborough County and the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) in conducting preliminary engineering analyses of widening the of Big Bend Road (CR 672) from west of Covington Garden Drive to east of Simmons Loop (FDOT WPI Segment No. 424513-5) and the reconfiguration of the I-75 ramps at the Big Bend Road Interchange (FDOT WPI Segment N. 424513-6), which impacts the Golden Aster Preserve resource. Big Bend Road is proposed to be widened from a four-lane divided arterial to a six-lane divided arterial, and includes the replacement of the existing bridge on Old Big Bend Road over Bullfrog Creek, as well as reconfiguring the interchange ramps at I-75 and the realignment of Old Big Bend Road. The purpose is to provide documented information necessary for Hillsborough County and FDOT to reach a decision on the type, location, and the conceptual design for the improvements.
