    The Department of Environmental Protection announces a public meeting to which all persons are invited.
    DATE AND TIME: November 14, 2012, 5:30 p.m.
    PLACE: Cocoa Beach Public Library, 550 North Brevard Avenue, Cocoa Beach, Florida
    GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: This is a public presentation of the North Indian River Lagoon and Banana River Lagoon Basin Management Action Plans. The presentation will cover the importance of seagrasses in the Indian River Lagoon followed by a presentation on how to reduce nutrient loadings to protect them. There will be exhibits on water quality sampling, Florida Friendly Landscaping, and the Brevard County Live Blue Program. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for viewing of exhibits and presentations will start at 6 p.m. Total Maximum Daily Loads for the Central and North Indian River Lagoons were adopted in March 2009 and require reductions in the loadings of total nitrogen and total phosphorus sufficient to meet seagrass depth limit targets.
