    NOTICE OF CHANGE

    Notice is hereby given that the following changes have been made to the proposed rule in accordance with subparagraph 120.54(3)(d)1., F.S., published in Vol. 40, No. 201, October 15, 2014 issue of the Florida Administrative Register.

    (1)(d) “Medical complexity Medically complex” shall have the same meaning as defined in Section 1008.22(9), F.S.

    (5)(a) The student is unable to meaningfully participate in the grade-level general state content standards pursuant to Rule 6A-1.09401, F.A.C., Eeven with appropriate and allowable instructional accommodations, assistive technology, or accessible instructional materials, the student requires modifications, as defined in paragraph 6A-6.03411(1)(z), F.A.C., to the grade-level general state content standards pursuant to Rule 6A-1.09401, F.A.C.; and

    (7) Exemption options for students with medical complexity who are medically complex. A student with medical complexity who is medically complex as defined in Section 1008.22(9), F.S., may be exempt from participating in statewide, standardized assessments to include the Florida Alternate Assessment. If the parent consents in writing, and the student’s IEP team determines that the student should not be assessed based on medical documentation that confirms that the student meets the criteria of medical complexity being medically complex, the parent may select one (1) of the following assessment exemption options:
