    The Department of Environmental Protection announces a public meeting to which all persons are invited.

    DATE AND TIME: Thursday, December 11, 2008, 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

    PLACE: Cedar Hammock Lodge (Withlacoochee State Forest, Baird Tract), 6801 County Road 117, Webster, FL 32202

    GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: To obtain public input regarding the Baird Tract Wetland Restoration Project. The project involves wetland enhancements within the Baird Tract and portions of the Richloam Tract, which adjoin the Little Withlacoochee River in Sumter County and portions of Lake County. DEP has entered into an agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation (DEP Agreement No. RG040) to design and fund wetland enhancement projects to mitigate for wetland impacts associated with offsite transportation projects. Maps and other pertinent information related to the enhancement projects will be available for review and discussion with DEP staff at the meeting site.
