The Department of Business and Professional Regulation, Division of Hotels and Restaurants, Bureau of Elevator Safety hereby gives notice: On October 5, 2018, the Division issued an order. The Final Order was in response to a Petition for an emergency permanent Variance from Embassy Suites Sarasota, filed October 16, 2018, and advertised on October 25, 2018 in Vol. 44, No.209, of the Florida Administrative Register. No comments were received in response to the petition. The Final Order on the Petition for Variance grants the Petitioner a variance from Chapter 3007.7.4, 2016 Supplement to 2014 Florida Building Code (effective July 1, 2016) that requires minimum lobby size because the Petitioner has demonstrated that the purpose of the underlying statute has been met and that Petitioner would suffer a substantial hardship if required to comply with this rule (VW 2018-216).
