    RULE NO.:RULE TITLE:

    61H1-31.006Reactivation Fee

The Board of Accountancy hereby gives notice: of the issuance of an Order regarding the Petition for Waiver or Variance, filed on August 21, 2024, by Stephanie Kymer. The Notice of Petition for Waiver or Variance was published in Vol. 50, No. 170, of the August 29, 2024, Florida Administrative Register. Petitioner sought a waiver or variance of Rule 61H1-31.006, F.A.C., amended to also include Rule 61H1-33.006, F.A.C. Rule 61H1-31.006, F.A.C. requires that each Florida certified public accountant for reactivation of a delinquent status license to active shall pay a fee of $250.00, which Petitioner has satisfied.

The Board considered the Petition at a duly-noticed public meeting held on September 13, 2024, in Orlando, Florida.

The Board’s Order, filed on October 17, 2024, granted the petition, finding that Petitioner established that the purpose of the underlying statute, Section 473.313, F.S., would be met were she to be granted a variance from Rule 61H1-33.006, F.A.C., regarding the CPE renewal and reactivation licensure requirements. The Petitioner further established that the Board’s application of Rule 61H1-33.006, F.A.C., to her circumstances would violate principles of fairness or impose a substantial hardship on her.

A copy of the Order or additional information may be obtained by contacting: Roger Scarborough, Division Director, Board of Accountancy, 240 NW 76th Dr., Suite A, Gainesville, Florida 32607, (850)487-1395 or by email, Roger.Scarborough@myfloridalicense.com.
