The Florida Department of Transportation (DOT) hereby gives notice that on November 8, 2023, DOT entered an Order Granting Petition for Variance from Rule 14-73.001, F.A.C., to the Pasco County Public Transportation Department (Pasco County). On August 18, 2023, Pasco County requested a variance to the deadline for adoption of Pasco County’s Five-Year Transit Development Plan (TDP) update. Notice of the Petition for Variance was published in the August 23, 2023, edition of the Florida Administrative Register. DOT granted the variance, because Pasco County demonstrated that the strict application of Rule 14-73.001, F.A.C., would create a substantial hardship on Petitioner, and DOT determined that a one-year extension of the TPD deadline promoted the effective use of transportation resources in developing the Five-Year update to the TPD. No comments were received on the request for variance.
