  • NOTICE OF PUBLIC OPPORTUNITY TO COMMENT ON A SUPPLEMENTAL PLAN OF EXPLORATION FOR FEDERAL WATERS OF THE CENTRAL GULF OF MEXICO PLANNING AREA

    Interested persons are hereby given notice that a U.S. Department of the Interior, Minerals Management Service, Supplemental Plan of Exploration submitted by Shell Offshore Inc., for Desoto Canyon Blocks 353 and 396, and Mississippi Canyon Block 393, was received by the State of Florida. Proposed activities include drilling up to seven exploration wells in approximately 7,500 feet of water located approximately 116 miles southwest of Florida.

    The plan is available for inspection at: Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP), Office of Intergovernmental Programs, Room 953 DA, Douglas Building, 3900 Commonwealth Boulevard, MS #47, Tallahassee, Florida 32399-3000, (850)245-2163. Written comments regarding this activity and its consistency with the Florida Coastal Management Program should be submitted to FDEP, at the address listed above, by January 8, 2010.
