DATE AND TIME: Wednesday, December 11, 2013. The hearing will begin as an open house from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., with a formal presentation at 6:30 p.m.

GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: FDOT, District Six, will conduct a public hearing for the State Road 997/Krome Avenue/SW 177th Avenue (South) Project Development & Environment (PD&E) Study. Project Limits: from SW 296th Street/Avocado Drive to SW 136th Street/Howard Drive, Miami-Dade County, Florida. Financial Project Number: 249614-4-22-01. Efficient Transportation Decision-Making (ETDM) Number: 7800. Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) Number: FHWA-FLA-EIS-13-01-D.

The draft project documents and other information are available for public review from Wednesday, November 20, 2013 to Monday, December 30, 2013, excluding major holidays, at the following locations: FDOT, 1000 NW 111th Avenue, Room 6251, Miami, FL 33172, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday; and at the John D. Campbell Agricultural Center, 18710 SW 288th Street, Homestead, FL 33030, from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. All exhibits or statements postmarked on or before December 30, 2013 will become part of the public hearing record.

The primary purpose for this study is to look at improving safety and mobility along this highly traveled corridor, while being sensitive to the needs and concerns of the surrounding communities and in keeping with the agricultural character of the area.

This public hearing is being held as part of a current PD&E study that is being conducted to evaluate safety and operational improvements to State Road 997/Krome Avenue/SW 177th Street (South) between SW 296th Street/Avocado Drive and SW 136th Street/Howard Drive in Miami-Dade County. Your participation is encouraged and appreciated.
