    Community Development Block Grant Program Application Preparation Training

    The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) will conduct two Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program Application Preparation Training sessions for representatives of non-entitlement local governments that are eligible to apply for Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) 2016 funding.

    Each training session will cover the following topics: CDBG definitions, eligibility and eligible activities, citizen participation requirements, defining service areas, surveying beneficiaries, requirements for Readiness-to-Proceed points, procurement of professional services, economic development, fair housing requirements, and rejection issues. The training will include hands-on exercises and a review of the application form.     The training will be held on the following days at the locations listed:

    • December 15, 2016, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Central Time, Design Building Conference Room, FDOT District 3 Office, 1074 Highway 90, Chipley, FL
    • December 16, 2016, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Eastern Time, Madison Room, FDOT District 2 Office, 1109 South Marion Avenue, Lake City, FL

    Attendees should arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the training session to obtain a visitor’s badge from the security desk. The security desk in Chipley is located in the Administration Building.
