    NOTICE OF CHANGE

    Notice is hereby given that the following changes have been made to the proposed rule in accordance with subparagraph 120.54(3)(d)1., F.S., published in Vol. 41 No. 199, October 13, 2015 issue of the Florida Administrative Register.

    THE TEXT OF THE PROPOSED RULE WILL NOW READ:

     

    64B17-6.001 Minimum Standards of Physical Therapy Practice.

    (1) No change.

    (2) No change.

    (3) Physical Therapist Responsibilities. All Pphysical therapists shall:

    (a) through (f) No change.

    (g) When participating in student and/or trainee programs, assure that the programs are approved or pending approval by the appropriate accrediting agency recognized by statute. the Council on Postsecondary Accreditation or the United States Department of Education and provide on-site supervision when students are performing patient care activities.

    (h) No change.

    (4) Physical Therapist Assistant Responsibilities. All Pphysical therapist assistants shall:

    (a) No change.

    (b) Not provide services During the delivery of physical therapy care to a patient who is an inpatient in a hospital, or who is in the acute phase of injury or illness, not provide services to patient, unless the physical therapist is readily and physically available to provide consultation.

    (c) through (f) No change.

    (g) When participating in student and/or trainee programs, assure that the programs are approved or pending approval by the appropriate accrediting agency recognized by statute. the Council on Postsecondary Adccreditation or the United States Department of education and provide on-site supervision when students are perfomring patient care activities.

    (5) through (7) No change.

    64B17-6.002 Supervision of Physical Therapist Assistants by Physicians.

    (1) No change.

    (2) Where general supervision is permitted, there shall be a written agreement between the board-certified orthopedic physician, physiatrist or chiropractic physician and the supervising physical therapist, specifying the duties responsibilities of both parties.  The Agreement must contain, at least a minimum, the minimum standards of physical therapy practice specified by Rule 64B17-6.001, F.A.C.
