    The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) announces a public meeting to which all persons are invited.

    DATE AND TIME: Thursday, January 9, 2020, 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

    GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: Financial Management Number: 436433-1

    The project involves the design of a multi-use trail which will connect the Clarcona-Ocoee Connector Trail to the Seminole Wekiva Trail. This is a 3.9-mile section of the Coast to Coast Trail in northwest Orange County that begins along Clarcona-Ocoee Road at the intersection with Hiawassee Road and ends at the junction of U.S. 441 and S.R. 414.

    Planned improvements include:

    • Providing a pedestrian/bicycle trail adjacent to the existing roadway;

    • Improving crosswalks and curb ramps in accordance with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements;

    • Making drainage and minor structure improvements;

    • Installing new traffic signal poles on Clarcona-Ocoee Road at Powers Drive and Pine Hills Road, and on Pine Hills Road at Beggs Road; and

    • Modifying the northbound U.S. 441 on ramp to westbound S.R. 414 by replacing the existing right turn with a signalized right turn for safety.

    Construction is anticipated to begin in the fall of 2022.
