PURPOSE AND EFFECT: The purpose of this rule development notice is to address a possible federal consistency action to amend Atlantic state recreational regulations for red porgy, snowy grouper, and blueline tilefish to be consistent with current and pending federal regulations. Consistent regulations can help improve stock status of these species, increase regulatory compliance, and aid in enforcement.

SUBJECT AREA TO BE ADDRESSED: Subject areas to be addressed in the rule development notice include recreational bag limits, vessel limits, seasons, and/or for-hire possession limits for red porgy, snowy grouper, and blueline tilefish in Florida’s Atlantic state waters.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY: Art. IV, Sec. 9, Florida Constitution.

LAW IMPLEMENTED: Art. IV, Sec. 9, Florida Constitution.
