    61C-5.001: Safety Standards

    NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on February 10, 2014, the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, Division of Hotels and Restaurants, Bureau of Elevator Safety, received a petition for Emerald Isle. Petitioner seeks an emergency variance of the requirements of ASME A17.1, Section 2.2.7, 2.4.1.2, 2.11.11.8, and 2.19.2.2(b), as adopted by paragraph 61C-5.001(1), Florida Administrative Code that requires upgrading the elevators minimum pit depth, bottom car clearances, hoistway door safety retainers and unintended car movement protection which poses a significant economic/financial hardship.
