    NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS

    ITB 15-12 Alumni Drive Milling & Resurfacing

    The University of North Florida Board of Trustees, a public body corporate, is soliciting bids to contractors for the milling and resurfacing of Alumni Drive located at the University of North Florida, 1 UNF Drive, Jacksonville, FL 32224.

    The scope of work includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the milling and resurfacing of Alumni Drive from Kernan Boulevard to UNF Drive. This job includes the repairing of an asphalt pavement section on UNF Drive plus some miscellaneous curb and sidewalk removal and replacement. The awarded contractor will also be responsible for providing and installing internal pipe joint seals in one cross-drain, the temporary and permanent roadway striping and all other work per the project bid documents and drawings.

    Substantial Completion on this project shall be defined as all work substantially completed; punch list items that cannot prevent the full use of Alumni Drive and UNF Drive. The roadways must be free of all obstructions and/or other hazards, temporary roadway striping and the new signal loops/signal operation must be completed.

    Contractors desiring to be considered must have current demonstrable experience, FDOT pre-qualifications in Hot Plant-Mix Bituminous Courses and certifications at the time of bid opening in accordance with the specifications in the ITB 15-12 Alumni Drive Milling & Resurfacing bid documents.

    Minority business participation is strongly recommended and supported by the University of North Florida.

    A performance and payment bond for 100 percent of the amount of the bid will be required of the successful contractor for any project with a cost that exceeds $100,000.

    As required by §287.133, Fla. Stat., a contractor may not submit a proposal for this project if it is on the convicted vendor list for a public entity crime committed within the past 36 months. The selected contractor must warrant that it will neither utilize the services of, nor contract with, any supplier, subcontractor or consultant in excess of $15,000 in connection with this project for a period of 36 months from the date of their being placed on the convicted vendor list.

    Contractor shall have established equal opportunity practices which conform to all laws against discrimination and prohibits discrimination based on race, creed, color, sex, age, national origin, marital status or religion; neither contractor nor any subcontractor or other person, firm or business entity with whom it would be engaged in a combined effort to perform the services has hired any person who is an officer or employee of UNF.
