NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Department of Financial Services, Division of State Fire Marshal (the “Department”), has received the petition for declaratory statement from Richard Coates (the “Petitioner”) on February 9, 2015.The petition seeks the agency’s opinion as to the applicability of National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA) 1:1.1, 1:2, 1:28.1.6.1.1.1, 1:13.6.1.2, 1:13.6.8.1.3.1, 1:13.6.8.1.3.2, 1:10.2, and 1:10.3.1, 1:28.1.8, and 1:28.1.9., as it applies to the petitioner.

The Petition seeks clarification if the fire prevention codes were properly enacted prior to Petitioner’s boat being destroyed in the boatyard fire.
