NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on February 19, 2024, the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, Division of Hotels and Restaurants, Bureau of Elevator Safety, received a petition for Florida Institute of Technology at 3306 Engineering St., Melbourne, FL 32901. Petitioner seeks a routine variance of the requirements of ASME A17.1, 2000 Edition, Section 2.8.4.1, as adopted by 61C-5.001, Florida Administrative Code that requires air conditioning equipment not be located directly above elevator equipment which poses a significant economic/financial hardship. Any interested person may file comments within 14 days of the publication of this notice with Division of Hotels and Restaurants, Bureau of Elevator Safety, 2601 Blair Stone Road, Tallahassee, Florida 32399-1013 (VW2024-028).
