    Notice of Application Preparation Training

    The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity will conduct two Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program Application Preparation Training sessions for representatives of communities that are eligible to apply for Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) 2014 funding.

    Each training session will cover the following topics: changes to Chapter 73C-23, FAC, eligibility and eligible activities, citizen participation requirements, acquisition, defining service areas, surveying beneficiaries, procurement of professional services, economic development, fair housing requirements and rejection issues. The training will include hands-on exercises and a review of the revised application form. A copy of the agenda along with a link to the registration page will be available on the Small Cities CDBG web page at www.FloridaJobs.org/SmallCitiesCDBG by February 25, 2015.

    The training will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time on the following days:

    • March 10, 2015, Department of Revenue's Capital Circle Office Center, 2450 Shumard Oak Blvd., Building 2, Tallahassee, and
    • March 12, 2015, DOT District 2 Office, 1109 S. Marion Avenue, Lake City, Florida.

    Attendees should arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the training session to register and get a visitor’s badge.
