PURPOSE AND EFFECT: To improve oversight and compliance of the periodic testing as defined by ASME A17.1.

SUBJECT AREA TO BE ADDRESSED: The proposed rule will implement Category 3 periodic safety tests as defined by ASME A17.1 and adopt periodic safety test forms for escalators & moving walks, hydraulic elevators and traction elevators.
