Proposals are requested from QUALIFIED CERTIFIED ROOFING CONTRACTORS by the State of Florida, Department of Children and Families, hereinafter referred to as OWNER, for the construction of:

TITLE: REROOFING BUILDING NO. 1012, CIVIL TRANSITION UNIT AND BUILDING NO. 1029, DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES DEFENDANT PROGRAM
SITE: FLORIDA STATE HOSPITAL, CHATTAHOOCHEE, FLORIDA, 32324
PREQUALIFICATION: Each prime Bidder shall be state-certified in accordance with Chapter 489, Florida Statutes, as a Roofing Contractor. Bids from firms not able to furnish proof of the required certification are subject to disqualification.
PROPOSAL: Bids must be submitted in full in accordance with the requirements of the Drawings and the General and Technical Specifications, which may be examined and obtained from the ARCHITECT/ENGINEER:

BID DOCUMENTS: Full sets of Drawings and Specifications may be purchased from the ARCHITECT/ENGINEER, by payment of printing and handling costs at the rate of $10.00 per bid set.
MANDATORY PRE-BID MEETING: A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on THURSDAY, MARCH 7, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. local time. The meeting will be held at Maintenance& Facilities Conference Room, 1123 Engineering Road on Florida State Hospital Campus, Chattahoochee, Florida.
BONDING REQUIREMENTS: See Section B-11 for bid guarantee requirements. See Section C-5 for Public Construction bond requirements.

DATE AND TIME: Wednesday, March 27, 2019, 2:00 p.m. local time
LOCATION: 1317 Winewood Blvd., Building #3, Room 205G, Tallahassee, Florida. Opening and reading bids aloud will occur in Building #3, Room 202, Conference Room.
The general scope of work consists of replacement of the asphalt shingle roofing system including but not limited to asphalt roof shingles, underlayment, rubberized membrane underlayment, aluminum drip edge, gutters, downspouts, and other sheet metal flashings, ridge vents, starter strips, nails and other fasteners, and plastic cement and other items required for a complete watertight installation. Shingles, flashing and drip edge shall be completely removed and replaced on all roofs. Metal Drip edge shall be installed on edges including rakes and eaves where required. Cut existing plywood roof sheathing and install new Ridge vent on all roofs. Contractor should include the cost for new ridge vents that will be required on all roofs. Remove existing roof vents and fill hole with ¾” plywood sheathing to match existing sheathing. Required roof deck and rafter repair. The Owner wishes to determine in advance alternative bid proposals as described in Section 01030 of the specifications.
