Executive Director, Florida Independent Living Council, Inc.—Tallahassee, Florida
The Florida Statewide Independent Living Council (FILC) seeks an energetic Executive Director to provide leadership and guidance to its non-profit organization. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-starter who is passionate about maximizing opportunities for individuals with disabilities. The Executive Director is responsible for working closely with the Governor appointed Council to plan, implement, monitor and evaluate the State Plan for Independent Living (SPIL).

Minimum Qualifications:
- § Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of administrative experience with at least 3 years of supervisory experience; an advanced degree can substitute for 2 years’ experience
- § 1 year of experience as SILC Executive Director OR 2 years’ experience applying knowledge of (1) State Plan for Independent Living; (2) Title VII of the Federal Rehabilitation Act and Chapter 413, Florida Statutes; (3) financial operations of Council; (4) governmental operations at State and federal level; and (5) the independent living philosophy and its five core services.
- § Work experience in a nonprofit or with a disability-related organization
- § Strong financial management skills
- § Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- § Working knowledge of MS Office (Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, Word)
