  • RULE NO: RULE TITLE
    40D-9.170: Hunting
PURPOSE AND EFFECT: The purpose and effect of this amendment is to adopt minor revisions to the District’s land use rule regarding hunting on District lands clarifying the extent to which hunting is allowed on District lands that are not within a designated Type 1Wildlife Management Area. Whether hunting is allowed will be determined by the conservation management goals and objectives contained within the specific management plan for the property. The revisions will also provide greater flexibility in the issuance of hunting permits from the District for lands not within a Type 1 Wildlife Management Area. Currently the rule only allows for issuance per a lottery system. The proposed language will broaden the options to allow issuance via lottery or on a first come/first serve basis.
