PURPOSE AND EFFECT: The above-mentioned rules are being amended to update and clarify existing language and to promulgate a new rule that provides web-based integration standards to ensure that external web-based integration services (web services and application programming interfaces (or "APIs”)) are secure, interoperable, discoverable, and service oriented.

SUBJECT AREA TO BE ADDRESSED: The subject area to be addressed is the update and clarification of existing rules and promulgation of new standards for web-based integration.
