GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: Statewide public hearing and webinar to discuss the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) National Disaster Resilience Competition (NDRC). HUD, in collaboration with the Rockefeller Foundation, is providing significant resources and support to communities to help them become more resilient. The National Disaster Resilience Competition (NDRC) is a two-phase process that will competitively award nearly $1 billion in HUD Disaster Recovery funds to eligible communities. The competition will help communities recover from prior disasters and improve their ability to withstand and recover more quickly from future disasters, hazards, and shocks. The Competition has been posted on Grants.gov. The CFDA number is 14.272. It is also linked on HUD’s Funds Available webpage at:
ACTION TO BE TAKEN: A public hearing to be held on February 25, 2015, 4:00 p.m. 6:00 p.m., EST, staff from the Disaster Recovery Initiative Community Development Block Grant (DRI CDBG) program will review and accept comments on the State of Florida National Disaster Resilience Competition Application. A copy of the National Disaster Resilience Competition Application is currently available for review and comment on the Department’s website: http://www.floridajobs.org/NDRC. Comments regarding the state application will be accepted beginning February 26 and will conclude on March 12, 2015.
