    The Florida Department of Transportation District 2 announces a hearing to which all persons are invited.

    DATE AND TIME: Monday, February 16, 2015, 4:30 p.m.

    GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: The hearing will begin as an open house at 4:30 p.m. with opportunities for the public to comment at 6:30 p.m. The proposed improvements involve Airport Road (State Road 102) from Airport Court to Airport Center Drive (approximately 1 mile).

    This public hearing is being held to gather input from the public regarding the proposed improvements being considered as FDOT completes a Project Development and Environment (PD&E) study and to give interested persons an opportunity to express their views concerning the location, conceptual design, and social, economic and environmental effects of the proposed improvements in accordance with Federal Executive Orders 11990 and 11988. The proposed improvements are recommended to streamline traffic flow and improve safety which will provide efficient movement to and from the I-95/Airport Road interchange. Current concepts recommend reconfiguring various intersections, changes to travel lanes and signals, and modifying medians and driveways. An overpass on Airport Road at Ranch Road and a roundabout on Duval Road approximately 500 feet south of Airport Road are also being proposed.

    As of January 26, 2015, draft project documents will be available for review at the Highlands Branch Library, 1826 Dunn Avenue, Jacksonville, Florida and at the FDOT Urban Office, 2198 Edison Avenue, Jacksonville, Florida.
