ST. JOHNS RIVER WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT
The Governing Board of the District requests that interested parties respond to the solicitation below by 2:00 p.m. on February 25, 2016. McDonald Canal and A-B Canal Dredging Project
In 2002, the District developed the Lake Apopka North Shore shad ramp site as a facility to be used by commercial shad harvesting boats to access Lake Apopka via the Apopka-Beauclair (AB) Canal. The District, in partnership with Lake County intends to make further improvements to the site for public access and use of the existing boat ramp, including a parking lot, restrooms and picnic pavilions. Work has already commenced for completion of the parking lot and associated improvements for public access and use of the facility, together with completion of clearing and related improvements on the north side of the canal. Future work by others will include the public access dock adjacent to the boat ramp. Dredging of approximately 32,500 CY will be required for the widening of McDonald Canal to improve boating safety to the A-B Canal and Lake Apopka for public use. The estimated budget for the contract is $390,000.
