NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on February 4, 2016, the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, Division of Hotels and Restaurants, Bureau of Elevator Safety, received a petition for Southbay Condominium Association, Inc. Petitioner seeks an emergency variance of the requirements of ASME A17.1, Section 8.11.2.1.1(a), 8.11.3.1.5(c), 8.6.4.20, and 106.1b(1), as adopted by subsection 61C-5.001(1), F.A.C., that requires upgrading the elevators door reopening device, car and counterweight buffer, 5 year safety test and design and construction of pits which poses a significant economic/financial hardship.
